Tracey began as a Legal Assistant in the Litigation Department at Ballard Spahr, a national, full-service law firm alongside Mr. Berlage over 24 years ago.  Upon Mr. Berlage’s departure from Ballard Spahr, Tracey joined him at Gohn Hankey & Berlage.   As the senior paralegal and office manager of the firm Tracey has many responsibilities.   Her key focus is Bankruptcy and Litigation.  Tracey’s key areas of expertise include:

• In-depth knowledge of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy processes, including filing procedures, deadlines and documentation; 
• Exceptional organizational and attention to detail skills, allowing for efficient management of multiple cases, deadline, and documentation; 
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, providing guidance, updates, and support throughout the bankruptcy/litigation process
• Proficiency in conducting legal research using tools like Westlaw to support case development and strategy, as well as drafting legal document such as bankruptcy petitions, schedules and motions; and
• Experience in using bankruptcy-specific software for case management and document preparation, such as BestCase.
  
  

Tracey also contributes a vital role in:

• Preparing and filing bankruptcy petitions, schedules and financial documents with accuracy and completeness; 
• Communication with creditors and courts to facilitate smooth proceedings
• Analyzing financial records and conducting research to support Mr. Berlage in developing case strategies
• Ensuring compliance with legal procedures at every step of the bankruptcy and litigation process

Tracey’s focus on detail-oriented work, excellent communication, and a strong understanding of bankruptcy procedure and litigation procedures make her an invaluable asset to the firm.
