Glyn Cashwell’s practice is focused on commercial litigation, intellectual property, and government and commercial contracts.

Experience

Glyn brings extensive experience in commercial litigation, contracts, and intellectual property.  He serves as General Counsel for five technology companies and government contractors.  In addition, Glyn has a strong background in security and privacy, holding multiple certifications in cybersecurity and data protection.

Throughout his career, Glyn has represented individuals, small companies, and large privately held companies.

Representative Matters

  • Represented multiple companies in commercial transaction disputes.
  • Functioned as the primary contact with the Contracting Officer on contracts with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) valued at over $1 billion. Negotiated modifications and requests for equitable adjustment for multiple large government contracting companies.
  • Provided legal counsel on health compliance matters, interpreting complex regulations and advising on strategies to mitigate legal risks. Conducted regular reviews of contracts and agreements to assess their compliance with health laws and CMS contractual requirements, making necessary revisions to mitigate legal risks.
  • Ensured compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)/ Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)/Health and Human Services Acquisition Regulation (HHSAR) clauses, state and federal employment laws, and contractual conflict of interest provisions.
  • Completed patent and trademark searches and filed multiple registered trademark and patent applications.
  • Led the contracts department for a large company for timely and efficient review, drafting, redlining, and negotiations for over 500 contracts, including vendor agreements, employment agreements, subcontracts, business associate agreements, nondisclosure agreements, license agreements, terms of use, privacy notices, intercompany agreements, and teaming agreements.
  • Designed privacy framework, requirements, and policies for various company and government websites and apps. The resulting framework and policies complied with California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and government requirements.
  • Organized and supervised the due diligence on behalf of purchasers and sellers of large companies.
  • Handled litigation involving contract disputes, employment issues, False Claims Act allegations, and landlord-tenant matters.
